Unable to add New Page

    Coaraline 1.5.2

    I have only been using WP & Coraline for the last week. I was able to get my website up and running (https://www.bellevuefumc.com) with multiple pages and pages using the parent feature. I tried adding two new pages earlier today and I am unable to successfully publish (view on the web) them either with or without a parent. Not sure if this is related to the recent update or not.

    More Info: It is failing to update the menu listing at the top of the header photo. I am able to access the new page by typing the address directly i.e. https://www.bellevuefumc.com/Our-Church/Atomic-Youth

    You’ll have much more control over your menu if you create a custom menu rather than falling back to the default menu.

    Try following the guide here to create a custom menu organized in the way you want:

    That may be true (greater control), but that still doesn’t tell me why I can’t successfully make any changes on my existing menu. I used to be able to make simple changes and now I can’t.

    For instance, I have completely deleted all content and references to one of my pages – Worship Services – and in the menu I now have “#35 No Title” where “Our Services” used to be. I think there is still something not behaving correctly since the updates after 1.5. I will research the custom menu info.

    Thanks for the additional details. I haven’t had any other reports of problems editing menus in Coraline, so it would be good to get to the bottom of what’s happening on your site.

    “#35 No Title” where “Our Services” used to be.

    “No Title” is what’s displayed when a page or post either doesn’t have a title entered, or doesn’t have Label text entered in the menu setup.

    Do you have a custom menu set up currently or is it the default menu?

    I am still using the default menu. I will have the next three days to learn about the custom menu option.

    Kathryn-I was able to get my two new pages to display after reading, and following, the Menu Guide. Just a bit confused why I never had to use the menu tool to add/delete pages when I first started with WP 4.2.2 two weeks ago, nor with the WP 3.3.1 I used for 2 years prior to that. I guess that some things are just meant to be mysteries!

    Glad you got your menu sorted. I’m not sure why that changed but glad you’re all set!
