    Hello,

I’m unable to add any additional fields to my current HappyForms form. It currently has 63 different fields.

Right now, if I add a field and click Save Form, it won’t save.

If I remove a field, and click Save Form, it will save.

If I add a field after removing a field, it will save.

I duplicated the form, and the same issue is there.

This may have only just started being an issue with WordPress 5.0.

I started a new form and it is acting normally, but I’m unsure if it will do the same thing if I try rebuilding the existing form from scratch and get to 63 fields.

    Some Suggestions:

It would be nice if we could have different colored backgrounds for the preview area in case we are using white text.

for the date field, “past years only” and “future years only” should include the current year as well

  • Hey there, @davepoobond!

This is really interesting. Would you help us investigate by sharing an export file? To export your forms:

    1. Head over to your ToolsExport screen.
    2. Select All Forms.
    3. Click Download Export File.

We’ll look directly into your form data after importing it. Thank you!

Sure can, is it ok to email it to you?

    Thanks for the help.

    Yep! That’s fine, @davepoobond.

Just email it through to us at support [at] thethemefoundry.com and be sure to mention this support thread so we know who it’s from.

    Thanks! ??

Thank you. I did email it earlier today. Let me know if you received it.

    Hey there, @davepoobond!

Just updating this thread with our findings, in case other users face the same issue. On big forms like yours (60+ parts), clicking the Save Form button in your Customize screen means submitting more than 1000 fields to your server. By default, PHP has a max_input_vars setting of 1000, so your forms won’t save.

The workaround for now is to raise the max_input_vars setting in your php.ini file.

We’re currently looking into ways to overcome this limitation without a need for server tweaks. Keep an eye on updates!
