On my site, I removed the Meta from sidebar 1 so I could add it to sidebar 2. It left 1 happily enough, but I do not have an “add” link next to Meta. I’ve tried adding other widgets and them removing them to reset whatever quirky logic is keeping it out, but it does not help. Meta stays permanently unavailable.

The ‘count’ of widgets is accurate for both sidebars (6 for sidebar1, 1 for sidebar2), but my theme (Thesis) is using a total of 17 widgets.

    Suggestions?

  • I really like thesis but sometimes it can be a complicated pain in the butt.
Same thing has happened on some sites I setup – here is what I did.
    switch to default them
refresh widgets page – clear cache – ctrl + F5 at same time on keyboard
meta widget should then be back
    switch back to thesis
add meta widget to sidebar 2

If samboll’s advice doesn’t work, you can try out the Widgets Reset plugin.

    @ greenshady
great looking plugin – thanks for that
man Justin does some good stuff

Most of my plugins are born out of frustration with something in WP. ??

samboll, thanks for the suggestion. It did not, unfortunately, do the trick. I’ve gone so far as removing ALL my widgets now, and regardless of the theme I’m on, the dashboard says I am using 10 widgets, none of which are showing up in any sidebar.
