Unable to add media

Hello- I’m using wordpress 4.0, and when I try to click “add media”, nothing happens. I thought it might have to do with pop-ups, since I assume it opens a new window, and since I also can’t select “quick edit”, which I assume is also a new window.

I’ve tried it on two computers myself (one at work, and one at home where I can successfully click “add media” on a wordpress.com blog), and a co-worker has also tried it unsuccessfully on his computer.

We just updated to a new version of www.remarpro.com, and installed plug-ins, but we couldn’t add media before OR after the plug-ins were installed.

I’ve searched for this problem already, but the only answers I could find were from a year ago for a different version of wordpress, and they talked only about plug-ins, which I don’t know much about. I don’t know a whole lot about computers (other than what an average young education professional knows), so if you are able to help me, I will likely need pretty simplified explanations.
