When I create a new post and press on the “add media” button, nothing happens. It has been playing up the last couple of days. It worked yesterday, but not today. I have uninstalled my jetpack plug in and that didn’t do anything. I have reinstalled it, still no change. The only other plugin I have is askimet for spam and there have been no changes/updates to that.
I’m wondering if someone can help.
    Thanks

First, please make sure that your browser is up to date by visiting https://whatbrowser.org/

If it is not, please try updating your browser or switching to a different browser.

If it is, please do these two things:

    1. Try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies.

    2. Try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.

Please let us know how each step goes for you, and which browser (and version of) you’re using if you’re still having trouble.

Thanks for the info. I have visited the site you gave me and it says my safari is up to date. I am using version 6.1.5 (my MAC is OSX v 10.7.5). I have cleared out the cache and cookies. I do not think I have any extensions or add-ons for my browser (and I cannot work out how to check this – sorry).
I am still not able to add media after doing all of this. The cursor just keeps jumping to the “title” section when I select the “add media” button.
I also loaded google chrome onto my computer and tried opening my site in that and doing a post and the same thing happened.
I have also updated to the main theme 20/14 and have all plug ins deactivated (as suggested on the help website as well).
I’ve also tried to shut down and restart my computer, just in case…
I’m not sure if looking at my blog will help. https://www.myplacetocreate.com
    Thanks

Try adding define('CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS', false); to your wp-config.php file just below the define('DB_HOST' line.

Ok, that took a bit of searching. Had to contact FatCow on how to do that (and I was so nervous about changing anything), but it appears to have worked. Hopefully this is a lasting solution. I really appreciate your help. Thanks so much…

    You’re welcome!

    Hello!

I have the same problem, but I am not using a wordpress theme, I am using an Avada theme and the Add Media button is not working.

Also, since the 3.9.2 update, I cannot see my theme short code menu button just up of my text box.

I’ll try to add that line, but I am not a coder, I have no idea where to find the codex…
I’ll see if I can do this.

euhhhh this link you just posted is like chinese to me…!

I’m just a yoga teacher who likes to program her own website!

    Can you help me?
