unable to add images to the post

  • I am unable to add images to the post.

    When a post is created, I can add the image to the media library and set it as a featured image. But when I try to add the image to the post using add media button, nothing happens. When I click the “add Media” button, the image gallery opens, I select the image and click insert but nothing happens.

    I have checked and adjusted the PHP variables but to no avail. I also disabled plugins but it did not affect the behaviour.

    Website is running on WordPress Version 6.6.2 with theme Magazine Pro (Genesis 3.5.0)
    PHP version is 8.1

    I did notice that when I try above, the console returns a 403 error on https://example.com/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php I have checked file permissions for all folders including the upload directory, but, can’t figure out what’s wrong.

    Any suggestions and help would be much appreciated.

  • The “Add Media” button sounds like you are using the Classic Editor?

    Try changing the theme to a standard theme like TwentyTwentyFour. If it works after that, it’s because of your Magazine Pro theme. In this case you should contact their support.
