Unable to add Image to existing page

    Hi, I’m having problems with my personal site, I’m unable to adjust my themes SEO options

    clicking update gives me a 404 error

    I also get a 404 error when trying to add an image to an existing page, every other update I am able to do

    I’ve tried this with the twenty ten theme to check its not a theme related problem, the same problems remain in the twenty ten theme ??

    Any suggestions or pointers appreciated

    Thank you Esmi,lets just focus on the adding an image problem,when updating a page its only adding an image which causes trouble any ideas why? I can update text in a page no problems at all ??

    ok Esmi ~I’ll try to explain clearer ??

    I have a page in my word press site lets call it mypage,

    whenever I try update mypage with just text it updates fine no problem

    whenever I try to add an image to mypage it causes an error- I get a 404 page

    Hopefully that clarifies it ?? Thanks for your time

    Can you add images to other pages without a problem? Have you tried using different images? Are you uploading this image when editing the Post or adding the image via the Media Library?

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of your version of WordPress.

    I’ve implemented all of those suggestions Esmi, the problem is still there ??

    https://www.mysite.com/wp-admin/post.php is the page which causes a 404 error ??

    Thank you for your help & patience I’ll admit this problem has me totally flummoxed

    That site is not using Twenty Eleven.

    I’ve switched to Twenty Eleven now Esmi and the problem has gone

    on a new install elsewhere today with the theme you saw, the problem also disappeared

    does this mean its a theme problem?

    It certainly sounds like it.
