I am signed in to WordPress with the EXACT SAME EMAIL ADDRESS tied to the Google Analytics Administrator. This is the Google account used to setup Google Analytics.

The problem appears to be with the transition from UA to GA4 properties. I was able to disconnect Analytics from SiteKit and set it up again, this time attached to the GA4 property instead of the UA tag and now I have the ability to manage view access for Google Analytics.

However, even though I have disconnected and reassociated Search Console with the GA4 tag, I still cannot manage view access for Search Console. I believe this is a bug with the SiteKit transitive trust between SiteKit and the Google Search Console that is apparently created when signing in to the Google account when connecting SiteKit. Further, since there is no way to remove Search Console access only in Site Kit to perform a similar reconnection to only that service like I did for Google Analytics, I cannot solve that access issue the same way.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @mputman007,

Appreciate you opening an individual support topic. So we can determine more on this, can you share a screenshot of what you’re seeing within your Dashboard Sharing screen, along with your Site Health information? I can then see if I can spot anything unusual that may be causing this behavior.

However, even though I have disconnected and reassociated Search Console with the GA4 tag, I still cannot manage view access for Search Console.?

As the Dashboard Sharing settings for Google Analytics work independently with Search Console, can you also share whether you used the same email to connect with Site Kit the second time (after you disconnected from Site Kit)? I ask as I’m wondering did you use one Google account initially to configure Dashboard Sharing with Search Console, before then disconnecting and connecting Site Kit once more, this time from another Google account.

I’ve been using the same email to connect SiteKit each time. It is [email protected].

Thanks for sharing the additional insights @mputman007.

I’ve checked the details and I was able to recreate the same experience as your own, when deleting an admin account that initially setup and configured Dashboard Sharing “Who can manage” access. If one of your WordPress administrator roles was modified or deleted, this may have led to you not being able to edit the Search Console “Manage view access” settings. From reviewing your Site Health information I can see 3 different Site Kit connected users, so it’s possible another administrator made changes if you don’t recall making any yourself.

While I will need to check this with the team, or open a GitHub issue based on your report, what you can do to resolve this is to reset Site Kit (Tools > Available Tools > Reset Site Kit), in particular as you’ve confirmed the Reset sharing permissionsoption didn’t resolve the issue for you.

Note that if you do decide to reset Site Kit, this will result in you having to connect the other previously connected modules once more, and the other users who are currently connected to Site Kit will need to set up the plugin once more.

Let me know if you have any questions with the above.

Well, resetting Site Kit did the trick. This should be added to the FAQs for the plugin. I would think it would save you a lot of individual troubleshooting.

Thanks for the confirmation @mputman007. Great to hear that resetting worked for you. And very valid point regarding resetting the plugin. As resetting Site Kit results on all configurations being reset for all modules and users we’ll be testing your experience further and I’ll pass on your feedback. Have a nice weekend.
