Unable to add comments to WP2.5

Even with the upgrade to 2.5.1 and making everyone an ADMIN (!!!!) to the site, nobody is able to add comments to my site. (Yes, I demoted the “fake” admins.)

Any suggestions/advice?

So, in trying to clarify someone else’s similar problem, I get told that its not nice to hijack their support thread. Cool, I understand, no problem.

Just trying to figure what I gotta do to get ANYONE ELSE to answer my own thread?!?!? The other guy asks a question and gets answers within 7 hours. I’ve been bumping this over a month…

Tech support: I’m doing it wrong!!

Default article settings: make sure that the following is checked “Allow people to post comments on the article ”

Thank you very much, roberthilley, for responding to my questions.

Unfortunately, this option was already selected. I’ve got a bog standard install and haven’t made too many changes from whatever the default settings were.

After your suggestion, I did play around with changing things here, such as playing with the variations under “Before a comment appears” section, without effect. I did also try deactivating all plugins, again without success.
