Hello ~ I am getting “Unable to accurately detect IPs Type: IP Detection” on two of my clients’ websites that are hosted at the same host. I have no other sites hosted there.

On both sites, I have tried all choices under “How does Wordfence get IPs” to no avail, both with and without deactivating plugins other than WordFence.

I have sent the diagnostic reports from each site to wftest @ wordfence.com using my forum user name @jess888.

I would appreciate any assistance you can offer. Thank you in advance.

Hi @jess888, thanks for sending your diagnostics over!

In the Wordfence > All Options > General Wordfence Options > How does Wordfence get IPs section, it can sometimes help to add trusted proxies. As I’m seeing multiple comma-separated IP addresses on Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics > IP(s) Used by this Server and in IP Detection on that page (next to the in-use “X-Forwarded-For” value) then you may need to add the one(s) that don’t correspond to your personal IP as seen on whatsmyip.org.

I notice you already have some values as Trusted Proxies but the 73.x.x.x one looks more likely to be yours as the 207.x.x.x one – which hasn’t been added as a trusted proxy – appears in “IP(s) Used by this Server”.

If neither IP showing in “X-Forwarded-For” corresponds to yours, you may need to contact your host and ask them to correctly send visitor IPs to your site.

Let me know how you get on!
    Peter.
