I’m consistently getting “Unable to accurately detect IPs” errors on one of my sites hosted on Cloudways. (I have about 20 others that don’t seem to have this issue.)

I’ve tried using every setting under the “How does Wordfence get IPs” options but none of them detect my correct IP. They’re picking up various Amazon IPs.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

  • Hey @kyle-tully,

If none of the options are detecting the correct IP this is likely going to be a server configuration issue. Are the sites that are correctly identifying it on the same server?

Can you send me a Diagnostics report so I can get a better overview of your environment? Please navigate to Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics. Here you can select SEND REPORT BY EMAIL. Please include your www.remarpro.com username and update this thread after you’ve sent it.

    Thanks,

Thanks Gerroald I’ve sent the report.

Yes all sites are on Cloudways, spread evenly across two different servers.

    Hey @kyle-tully,

Thanks for that. I’m not seeing the correct IP come over, as you mentioned it appears to be Amazon’s.

This would suggest that your proxy server may not be configured properly and you should check with Couldways to assure that visitors’ IP addresses are being detected correctly and passed to the webserver.

Please reach out to them and let me know what they say.

    Thanks,

    Gerroald

    Hey @kyle-tully,

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’ve gone ahead and marked this thread as resolved.

Please feel free to open another thread if you’re still having issues with Wordfence.

    Thanks,

    Gerroald
