• Hi community! I have checked if my issue is here but it seems kind of specific. Some months ago I had an issue with my SSL certificate (still not installed) and I got locked out of the WP admin. Today I contacted my hosting provider and they did some kind of reset of the wordpress, but now it seems that I have 2 separate accounts.

I tried 2 ways to log in:
    1. Open Godaddy and try to access to WP through it as well as using either of these links (as found here)

    https://www.MYWEB.com/wp-admin
    https://www.MYWEB.com/wp-login.php

I get the message: We’re sorry, you don’t have permission to access this site

    2. I used wordpress.com/wp-admin and my user name shows up by default, I could log in without issue and I could see my nickname and logo, even I could navigate on my web and all the articles are there BUT when I went to Dashboard, there is nothing, like a new user, like if it is not linked to my website.

On top of that, I came here to submit the topic, and I got the message wrong password (to log in here!!!) so I update the password and tried to access to WP with the new one, but I get the message “wrong password”. By the way, I cleaned cookies.

    Please help!!! I’m frustrated!!

  • GoDaddy support can be pretty useless. If you’re getting “We’re sorry, you don’t have permission to access this site” that means your login was correct but your user doesn’t have correct permissions. Whatever they did when they did a reset, that may have broken things in the database causing your permission issue.

You’ll need to use phpMyAdmin (usually hosts provide this tool) or Adminer script to access your database and fix user permissions. You can find instructions here:
