Now that I have Ninja Firewall working on 2 of my sites, I tried to install it on the third.
On this site, WP is installed in a /blog subdirectory.
The hosting is different from the other sites, and the installer had me modify .htaccess at the web site root, which I did.
The installation was reportedly successful, but when I try to login to admin from another browser, I cannot get in. The browser just hangs, i.e. does not receive any reply. (Login Protection is disabled)
If I enable Login Protection and enter the userid/password, I get a “Connection Reset” error.

    Hi

Does this occur only with one browser?
Do you have another plugin managing the login form/process? Your host could also have another application (e.g., modsecurity) that is closing the connection.

Try to access the login page and then check your HTTP and PHP logs, they might give more info about the error.

It happens with all my browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge).
The only other login plugin I have is Limit Login Attempts. Disabling that one does not change anything.
The server error log does not show anything; I don’t have access to the PHP log.

Could you ask your host if there is any security on the server that deals with the login page?
The “Connection Reset” message cannot come from NinjaFirewall (or any other PHP application), but from your HTTP server only. I wonder if Modsecurity or similar modules may be used by your host.
