• Hi,
I have been getting 404 page not found error in every other admin page and haven’t been able to access my WordPress admin dashboard since 2 days. This problem started with the slow page loading and then went on to displaying 404 page not found error. I had installed Yoast SEO plugin and clicked on its newsletter subscription button just before this problem started. I deleted that plugin using Filezilla and few other plugins thinking the error was due to installation of those plugins but nothing happened. My website is also messed up. could someone help me regarding this??

Try downloading WordPress again, access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel, and delete then replace your copies of everything on the server except the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory with fresh copies from the download. This will effectively replace all of your core files without damaging your content and settings.

Some uploaders tend to be unreliable when overwriting files, so don’t forget to delete the original files before replacing them.

If that makes no difference, what is the URL of your site?

I did as you say. I deleted and replaced all the folders except those wp-config.php and /wp-content/ but it didn’t work. My website went blank after that. Although i deleted all those files wp-includes keep reappearing again itself. Now My website has been dead for many days. It is very critical.

Try manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

Same error, can’t access the Dashboard from the theme menu. the problem is: domain.com/wp-admin doesn’t take the link to domain.com/wp-admin/index.php

index.php is there and if I type the full address I get to the Dashboard. Something is missing telling the directory default ‘/wp-admin’ to open the index.php file.
Which file needs updating do you think?

“SC Google Ranking” plugin triggers the errors

    Thanks man! James Huff!

its work for me. uff you give me confident and breath man. thanks again ^_^
