• Hi all,

So I have been using WordPress for the last couple of months fine, getting to grips with plugins and using them to build my site.

I recently used one to install and manage my SSL certificate. It was a bit of a tricky process but we got there in the end and the site was redirecting fine.

I then got an error yesterday in one of the plugins and my site sent down. Luckily I was able to access my site database through FTP (FileZilla) and deactivate all of the plugins and then log in.

After this had been fixed, I wanted to check my hosting (GoDaddy) settings – just to make sure nothing had gone wrong in there. I was in the website settings and an error prompted me to change my primary domain from wykesmedia.com to https://www.wykesmedia.com. Thinking that this was an issue I needed to resolve I, of course, clicked the prompt and it changed.

As soon as I did this it has broken the site completely and I think that’s due to the SSL certificate and the redirect battling with each other. All of the content and stuff on the site contains HTTPS and the redirect is trying to push to the HTTPS version of the site but I guess that doesn’t exist now? I may be wrong but that was my best guess.

Either way, it means that I am unable to log in to the dashboard to change anything and I cannot see a way of changing the content through FTP as I have built the website using plugins such as Elementor.

I would appreciate any advice or help on this as it’s rather frustrating. Thanks.
