• Hello, Everyone,

Yesterday I was unable to access my site (https://musclemodelblog.com/). One attempt failed today, but for the most part I have been able to access the site. However, I am unable to access the wp-admin login page. When I try to go to the link, I see the error message:

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

Does anyone know what may be going on?

    Thank you!

  • Have you tried it is a different browser?

I am seeing it. It has to be the them or a plugin blocking IE since it is not the best browser when it comes to modern browsers.

    – Also try to clear your cache for IE and try again

I actually did try it in a different browser earlier today (Firefox), and it did not work.

However, I just tried it in both Firefox and Internet Explorer…and it WORKED!!!

This is very strange. Every once in a while, I will not be able to access the site for an hour or so, and then it will come back…no idea what is going on.

All I needed to do was ask for help, and then it decided to work, lol!

It is like taking your car to a mechanic. When you get an error like “Page cannot be displayed” or any other error like you don’t have internet when you visit your site (Even if you do have a good internet connection). It more than likely has something to do with your hosting.

OK, I entered the dashboard…but now it is not working anymore. I clicked on something to delete it, but it would not delete, so I refreshed the page…now I am getting the “Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage” error again…and I am getting a similar error in Firefox, too.

Ok, so it is probably an issue with GoDaddy, not wordpress?

Very likely. If it was WordPress it would not likely be intermittent like that.

Ok. This is very frustrating…I was under the impression that GoDaddy was one of the better ones. Is it possible to change your host?

    Justin,

Thanks a lot! It looks like

    Bluehost
    DreamHost
    Laughing Squid

    are recommended for WordPress.

I did a search for GoDaddy…the consensus seems to be that they are good for buying domain names, but not good for hosting because sites go down often (which I can say is true).

If changing hosting services means copying the files…does that mean that I have to copy every single image that I have? I have a lot of pictures on my site.

No you won’t have to do that, they will get moved as part of the process described in the article linked above.

Ok, great. I think the shock and frustration made me miss that, lol.

    Thanks for the help, everyone!

BTW: The site is still down. I guess I have to wait until it becomes available again to switch hosts?
