My Multi site was working fine until yesterday. Nothing new as far as I can recall to change things. The front end is fine, but the dashbaord just freezes and will not load. Hostgator say it is not their problem…

something seems to be making the database go to sleep apparently… does anyone have experience with this sort of error please?

Try on a different browser first. Or better, a totally different computer.

    Hi Ipstenu,

Hostgator finally managed to restore from backups my sites, sort of. They say the dashboard is missing from the sites though and I need a developer to sort it.

I have not found any threads that have this problem. All the sites seem to show when putting in the sub domain names, but not the domain names…

Main problem is that when I try to go to any dashboard – it simply freezes and goes nowhere, just a blank page, no menu or anything at all.

Any clue how I restore this, pretty please?

    Cheers. Jane

PS One of the subdomains is wickedwalkabout .com.au , the page is all over the place…

Manually delete the wp-admin folder, and reinstall from a fresh download.

I have done that, still the same problem though. I cannot get to the dashboard at all and cannot even logout to try logging in again. Is there anything else I can do that you can think of please? Cheers.

Update… I renamed the plugin folder as another topic suggested and then re-added them one by one (the ones I was very sure of). I can now access the dashboard, but the domain mapping plugin seems to have errors. The sub domains show, but the mapped ones do not, so I am plodding through trying to solve that one now and at least get back to some sort of normality!
Many thanks for your help, I assume this one is now something that I need to work out…

    Cheers, Jane

Sorry for adding to this… I wanted to include the image I get when trying to go directly to one of the domains in the network… but will add a link again as a demo… When I enter https://www.australianhorsedirectory.com.au – I end up athttps://ourlocaldirectory.com.au/wp-signup.php?new=australianhorsedirectory.com.au

so I am trying to work out if it is the domain mapping or something else maybe?? I feel I may be missing the obvious! (all the domains are mapped and visible still from the hosting side as A name records).

    Hi Mika,

Yes, I finally got it sorted, I hope! Was about to leave an update, but did not get to it in time, my apologies and many thanks! Jane
