Umlauts are displayed incorrectly

    I′m German. I′m using WordPress 6.0.2, NextGEN Gallery 3.28 und PHP 8.1

    If NextGEN Gallery is activated then the German Umlauts in WordPress-Backend are displayed incorrectly.
    e.g. WordPress? or Aktivit?¤ten!

    If NextGEN Gallery is de-activated then the German Umlauts are displayed correctly.

    What is the problem? How can I solve the problem?

    Hi @uroveits,

    Could you please re-install NextGen Gallery plugin to see if that’ll change anything? As long as we are aware, the issue with incorrectly displaying German Umlauts got solved in the far past with no other re-occurrences. We’ve also tested on our sites and it appears that such words as übersetzen or L?schen within “Plugins” were correctly displayed.

    Having all of the plugins deactivated excepting NextGen Gallery plugin to see if the issue persists would be another thing worth checking.

    After re-installing and new-installing NextGen Gallery plugin the problem “Umlauts in WordPress-Backend are displayed incorrectly” is solved.
