    Hi,

there was already this thread on the forum which is now closed

    thread .

In this thread the user had a modified short code, but I use the normal one. In my case “Ryman” comes BEFORE “R?hrig”, which should be the other way around.

Is there meanwhile a solution to this?

Thanks a lot for your answer.

    Albert

    Hi Albert,

thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

The link that you posted deals with the TablePress Row Order Extension, while you are refering to the JavaScript sorting on the frontend, when a user sorts the table, right?

Unfortunately, I’m not aware of a solution to this, as umlauts are treated in such a way in JavaScript that they come after the regular letters (compare the character positions in the character encoding). It might be possible to change this by developing a custom algorithm for the DataTables JS library, but unfortunately I have no clue how to do that. Sorry ??

    Regards,
    Tobias
