I have installed and configure the UM plugin to restrict specific pages of the website and added pages to the list of those not locked behind a membership to my site. Among the pages listed in the for everyone or unrestricted list is https://norse.faith/blog/ .

Here is the issue, every post made is locked by default with the site being locked and only certain pages being open. With UM functioning in this fashion, the only way to allow the blog posts themselves to be unlocked is to add every blog post URL. Just wait it gets better. While right now the blog does not have a lot of posts it’s not a big deal but what about in a year when we have 700 or 800 posts? This open list will grow to be massive and continue to grow exponentially.

So is there a way to solve this problem?

Hi @kombear

You can set the restriction for each post category/taxonomy instead of adding restrictions on each post.

Okay, forgive me I read through it and I must just be a scrub because even having read that I don’t understand how I am supposed to make it do what I am wanting it to do…

Okay so here is what I want to accomplish with restricted content:
Restrict to Members Only
https://norse.faith/shop And anything after that
https://norse.faith/community/events/ And anything after that
https://norse.faith/community/library/ and anything after that
https://norse.faith/community/galleries/ And anything after that
https://norse.faith/community/contests And anything after that

When I say anything after that an example of what I am referring to would be https://norse.faith/events/july-2020/Banner-contest

The remainder of the site should be open to the public. Can you please provide me with a walkthrough on how to accomplish this because like I said earlier the article you sent me either didn’t explain how to accomplish my goals or I am just an idiot and didn’t understand what it was saying.

Hi @kombear

You can set the access restriction for specific user roles. It has a redirection options so only Members can access those posts under taxonomies. When you edit a taxonomy, you will see the UM content restriction. That settings will apply to all post under the taxonomy/category.

Yeah, that doesn’t really help… Think of me as if your talking to a 5-year-old and need to guide me step by step to set up what I am looking to accomplish, as was stated in my last response.

I don’t know how much clearer I can be, I don’t know what I am doing here and need help in the form of a walkthrough. Someone, anyone, please help me.

Okay, I sent them a message with the link to this post. As I said before you have to break it down for me like you would a toddler, as I am clearly not understanding the steps in the link you sent me.
