After having toyed with this for quite a while (I even bought the full version to really evaluate what it could do) I ended up removing it again, and happily so (see below). In spite of all the options for styling etc. it still handles clumsily and is not moved towards an attractive and intuitive solution easily, try as I might.
I have in the meantime resorted to Echo Knowledge Base, which gave me better results in much less time and with virtually none of the fiddling and hassle I went thru trying to make uFAQ work the way I want/ed.
If you hold the paid version of uFAQ against the free version of EKB, the steep difference becomes even more painfully obvious.
