Building a site for a client that utilizes both Ultimate Member and WooCommerce, but having challenges marrying together the functionality that both bring to the table.

We’re using Ultimate Member to restrict content and show exclusive content to custom UM user roles. The client provides a service to certain individuals, but they need to determine eligibility before granting access. So a visitor comes to the site and fills out the UM Registration form and we punt it through the UM Manual Review workflow. Also, this access is free, so it’s not connected to any WooCommerce transaction.

However, separate from the aforementioned registration and access approval is a shop, powered by WooCommerce. The current problem we’re having is that if a user comes to the site and creates an account through WooCommerce FIRST (they are given the Customer role), we don’t have a way for the Customer to later on, use the UM Registration form to request the exclusive content access and acquire the custom UM role. Because they already have a WordPress User, when a Customer lands on the Registration form they just see the message that says they are already registered and it creates a dead end. Similarly, if they log out and attempt to register, the form will flag that their username is already in use and won’t let allow them to submit the form.

Do you have a way to solve this problem or a suggested workaround? Can we display a secondary registration form to logged in Customers that would allow them to request the additional user role? We’d still need it to go through the manual review workflow.
