    Hi !
I created a text box in the registration form and placed it in the profile one as well.
When the subscriber enters something in this text box, it is not saved regardless of the form used.
So I am unable to add three text boxes for address, postcode and city….
All other field types seem to work except for the text box

Thanks in advance for your help !
    Bruno

    Hello @bmoreau92

Are you sure that you use the same text box on the profile form? Do you use “Custom Fields” on form?

    Regards.

    Hi Andrewshu

Actually I used Number field for ZIP Code and Text box for the town.
All of them from Custom fields.

    Yes
I do use the same field on both forms…
When I change a field on one form, I delete it on the other one, then recreate it from the list to be sure to have exactely the same one

    Hello @bmoreau92

Sorry for the late answer. Try to do a conflict test – https://docs.ultimatemember.com/article/96-how-to-do-a-plugin-theme-conflict-test.

    Regards.

    Hi andewshu,

I already tried a conflict test with no results.

As stated before, I use Ultimate Member to manage user registrations and profiles to restrict access to certain pages on my site.
I built with Ultimate Member a form for registration and another, identical in all respects, to view and modify the user’s profile.
All my users have the same profile: Subscriber.
When a user registers he has no problem filling in all the fields of the registration form.
On the other hand, it is impossible for him to modify it afterwards.
However, in the settings of the Subscriber role, I checked the box “the user can modify his profile”.
After several tries, I realized that I had to authorize this user to modify other profiles, by choosing a profile different from his which is not used.
(if I had authorized him to modify a profile identical to his, he could have modified those of all the other users…)
And as it now works: each user can finally modify his own profile and not that of others.

    I think this is a BUG ??

    Regards

    @bmoreau92

Yes you are right this is an UM bug reported here

    https://github.com/ultimatemember/ultimatemember/issues/1283

Remove your test setting “modify other profiles”
and test using both code snippets from GitHub.

Install both code snippets into your active theme’s functions.php file
or use the “Code Snippets” plugin.

Thank you missveronica for your prompt response !

Since you have identified this bug I assume that you will fix it very soon in a future version.
In the meantime, as our workaround works, we prefer not to attempt to make a manipulation that we do not master well.
