Ultimate Member messed up my user roles

    I installed ultimate member, but then felt like it wasn’t really for me and opted for a custom solution. But now, all user roles are “Member” from ultimate member, even though I uninstalled the plugin! forgive me if their is an obvious solution to this as i do not know it. But if anyone can help, please do lol.

    Hi @miamiwebcompany,

    Are referring to the WP User Roles or UM Community Roles? UM does not automatically change the WP User Roles of any users on plugin activation, unless you’ve synced them with the UM community roles.

    Well I deleted the ultimate member plugin and all new users and even old users still have “Member” as their role instead of subscriber and I can’t change it.

    Oops never mind! i was using $user->role instead of $user->roles[0] to get the actual WordPress user role. $user->role gave me whatever ultimate member saved as their UM role. Sorry. Ultimate member DID NOT mess up my user roles lol. Thank you for your reply though.
