• For some reason this plugin is causing the requests to /wp-admin to redirect to homepage, no matter what we do (clear cache/cookies, etc).

The moment I disable the plugin, all normal functionality is returned.

And this just happened out of the blue, after months of using the plugin just fine.

Any ideas how to fix it?

Is there some sort of a cache that it keeps somewhere that can be flushed to allow our admins to log back in on the same browser, instead of using a different browser every time this happens?

    Hello @crazyserb

Do you have this issue with all of the users or only some users with certain user roles? And does it get fixed when you use a different browser?

@aswingiri I don’t know how to answer that question.

It is a global problem on what I think are all users’ browsers at this point, as there are at least 2 of us who couldn’t log in / reach wp-admin on browsers we were already logged in (Chrome), so we had to switch browsers to Firefox and then it worked.

I tried clearing cache, cookies, everything in Chrome, and nothing worked. Another user used Brave (which is set to clear cache/cookies/history every time it’s closed) and re-opening it fresh still didn’t work, so it’s something very specific to the browser/local cache somewhere maybe?

Again, it’s not any one of the other 30+ plugins that we have on the site that’s causing it, as we tried disabling each one, one by one, and testing it out, and the only scenario that worked was when we disabled Ultimate Member one. So… I’ve kinda sorta isolated the problem on my end, but that’s as far as I go, as I don’t know the inner workings of Ultimate Member or its hooks/settings/database config that might cause this.

Actually all UM logins are now just simply returning back to login page, for all users.

    Ugh.

How do we reset / fix this, as there’s gotta be something in plugin settings / cache of some sort that is causing this.

    Anyone?!

    This is so frustrating.

Administrators cannot log in, Editors cannot log in, users have to keep changing browsers in order to access their user area.

I don’t know what you did but it somehow screwed up the whole /wp-admin logins / cookies / redirection somehow.

Can you guys provide any sort of troubleshooting for this plugin’s redirection setup and rules? Is there a troubleshooting section where we can see what’s being redirected where and how (other than the obvious redirect settings in General Settings)? Or can you respond with that list here somehow… as we can’t figure out why nobody who’s previously been able to log into the site cannot do that anymore on the same browser, no matter how many times they clean out their cookies and cache.

Oh, I see… you have time to respond with “please don’t bump your topic” note, but no time to respond to the issue at hand, even with a “we’re too busy” message or whatever other reason you might have to keep these issues lingering with no response for weeks (a whole month in this case).

Good to know going forward how reliable the support for this plugin is…

    Hi @crazyserb

Sorry for the late response. Most of our team members are living in Ukraine. We apologize for the delay in our support.

Is your site accessible to everyone? Could you please provide WP-Admin > Ultimate Member > Settings > Access screenshots? You can upload the screenshots via imgur.com and then share the image URLs here so we can review them.

@ultimatemembersupport sure, that setting/page is left all unchecked, and site is accessible to everyone: https://prnt.sc/lhf_jq0lBSEm

    Hi @crazyserb

Thanks for providing the screenshot. Could you also please provide a screenshot of your test account’s UM User Role settings that has this issue?

    That’s for the administrator role.

But this is affecting ALL user roles and accounts – from administrators to regular subscribers. Some users are not affected by it, some are.

Any idea what’s happening here, from those screenshots?

The only way out of this problem is disabling Ultimate Member plugin itself, as then logins via wp-login.php work just fine, and users who would simply get returned to the login page without any error shown can easily log in…

The minute we turn Ultimate Member plugin back on, logins for half the people (thousands of users) turn into a nightmare and they just keep getting redirected to the login page over and over and over… until they try a different browser. And that’s impossible to expect (or suggest as a workaround) from thousands of users – to install a separate browser just to browse our website.

What happens when that browser “locks up” like this and kicks them out the same way… they need to install a 3rd browser to keep going?

    @crazyserb

You can try this code snippet plugin and log your login redirects.
