• Hi everyone! I setup the Ultimate Member wordpress plug-in today and I’m really enjoying it. However, unfortunately it is not sending out any email notifications. Specifically, I am not receiving an email when someone registers for a new account on my website, at https://mustard.ca/wholesale-information-login/

I have the latest version of the plug-in and all my other wordpress plug-ins are up to date.

I followed all the troubleshooting tips offered in this Ultimate Member support article https://docs.ultimatemember.com/article/116-not-receiving-user-emails-or-admin-notifications but the plug-in is still not sending out email notifications.

My site uses the WP Mail SMTP plug-in for sending emails. All of the Elementor forms and Woocommerce email notifications work just fine on my website.

I contacted my email hosting company and they looked through the mail server logs and told me that they are not seeing an emails being sent after I complete the registration process using this page that I setup with Ultimate Member https://mustard.ca/wholesale-information-login/.

My email hosting company walked me through a series of troubleshooting steps (trying different mail server settings) but still no luck.

Could someone please help me troubleshoot this? I would be really grateful!

    Hello,

Please look at the page wp-admin > Ultimate Member > Settings > Advanced > Features. Is the “Action Scheduler” setting enabled?

Look at wp-admin > Tools > Scheduled Actions and search for the um_dispatch_email hook. Are there records related to this hook? What is shown in the “Status” and “Log” columns for this action hook?

    See example here https://prnt.sc/l4Nkfaa50Oa7

Scheduled Actions may not work if WP Cron is configured wrong. Fix WP Cron on your website or turn off the “Action Scheduler” setting to send emails directly.

Hello @yuriinalivaiko and thank you for your reply!

I enabled “Action Scheduler” as you suggested. Then I filled out the registration form on my website and went to Woocommerce / Status / Scheduled Actions. Please see my attached screenshot. It looks like there are 2 items logged here by Ultimate Member. However, I am still not getting any email notifications.

So, does this mean that Ultimate Member is dispatching 2 emails?

    Hello @suavekajko

I suggested you disable “Action Scheduler”. But it’s not a problem. It’s good that you tested this feature. Now we can be sure that your website sends emails. For some reason, emails do not reach the recipient.

Try temporary disable the SMTP plugin to send emails directly from your website. Does this work?

Yes, Ultimate Member sends 2 emails on registration. One email is sent to the website admin, another one is sent to the registered user.

Originally when I installed Ultimate Member, I did NOT have the WP Mail SMTP plug-in installed.

I installed the WP Mail SMTP plug-in because that was one of the troubleshooting tips I found on the Ultimate Member support website.

I tried disabling this plug-in just now… but I am still not getting emails.

Is there a way to log outgoing emails on your website? If not, install a free plugin for email logging: WP Mail Logging or Email Log. With this you can see mails that your website sends.

You should first determine the problem: emails are not being sent or are not reaching the recipient. Email logging will help to do this.

Ok, I installed the WP Mail Logging plug-in.

I ran 2 tests after installing it:

    1. I filled out the form on my contact page https://mustard.ca/contact-us/ which uses an Elementor form. This email was logged properly by WP Mail Logging.
    2. I filled out the Ultimate Member form on this page https://mustard.ca/wholesale-information-login/. This email is not captured in by WP Mail Logging.

So it sounds to me like the Ultimate Member plug-in is not actually dispatching any emails.

I really don’t think that this is an issue on the recipient end because I tried using several email addresses and none of them are getting any email notifications from Ultimate Member.

    I really appreciate your help!!

There are multiple forms on this page https://mustard.ca/wholesale-information-login/. Have you filled out the registration form? Just to confirm.

It’s a strange issue. Screenshot you attached before proves that Ultimate Member processes sending emails. But emails are not shown in the log, this proves they were not sent.

Please restore default settings – disable the “Action Scheduler” setting and verify that all settings on wp-admin > Ultimate Member > Settings > Emails are correct.

Please enable debug logging, do a test, then look at the debug.log file. Information about PHP errors is collected in this file. Are there PHP errors?

If nothing helps – do a conflict test.

Hi! Yes, I am filling out the registration form on this page.

I disabled the “action scheduler” and triple checked all the email settings, everything is 100% correct.

I will follow the rest your instructions and get back to you in the next 2-3 days. Thank you for your continued support. I would really like to figure this out!
