Ultimate Member 2.2.0. 404 page for restricted posts instead redirect or message

We’ve released version 2.2.0 that contains a large number of security fixes. Unfortunately, in previous versions, there was a problem with posts that customers wanted to restrict and mark as Hide from queries. There was a branching of logic that led to an unexpected result. For example, the comments of restricted posts were visible or the RSS feed displayed these posts despite the need to hide them.

So our team came to a holistic solution to avoid unexpected results.

Starting from version 2.2.0 the Hide from queries option will take priority and if you want to hide a post from the WP Query, then it must be hidden completely. Including not performing a redirect or displaying a message stating that it’s restricted.

If you need to redirect or display a message on the post/page, then the post will not be excluded from the WP Query and will be displayed in general lists. As for comments, they will be forcibly hidden for all restricted posts.

!!! Important: We draw the attention of old users that if you need a redirect or a message instead of 404 error, just uncheck the option for the restricted page/post:
