• Unfortunately, having paid for a fully functioning version of GiveWP, the integrated GiftAid add-on is not fit for purpose.

There is a known issue that prevents the Gift Aid addresses from being saved even if the donor fills all the fields on the form – we only discovered this when running our first GiftAid submission – only to discover that 40 donors had signed up to GiftAid but we couldn’t claim because their address had not been captured.

The suggested workaround was to use the billing address instead. This kind of works for GiftAid, but means that you have to make the billing address mandatory for all donors – whereas it’s neater just to be able to take credit card details (without billing address) for speedy donations.

Finally, the GiftAid submission process needs house name or number and postcode as the minimum collected data – but GiveWP cannot separate House name/number and Street name.

Until this functionality is added, we cannot process GiftAid using this plugin.

    Hey @mozzer4u

I really appreciate the time you took to write out this review.

I wish I had a way to rebut any of the things that you say here, but you’re exactly right. Gift Aid needs a bit of work, for sure. It’s on our roadmap to revisit the Gift Aid add-on for sure. In fact, I just checked internally, and it’s currently in progress. I don’t have a firm turnaround time for you (Holidays do that, for sure) but do know that it’s actively being worked on.

We’ve added your additional context here to our internal systems to make sure that the fix we ship takes it into account.

I look forward to earning back the remaining stars here. Your success with online donations is our number one priority.

Thanks Ben. If your team is able to fix the Gift Aid issues then I’d be happy to restore the stars – being able to claim GiftAid adds 25% to every donation we receive – that’s why it’s so important to us. I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

    Hi,

Just wondering if this has been fixed yet? As Gift Aid is also very important for me and not sure whether to buy the add-on if it’s still not properly functioning…
