Hi, I’m just starting to use DreamObjects and have connected the plugin to my account. I requested a backup to see what happens and I got nothing yet (only 109 MB worth of files, and that’s the entire WordPress install, not just wp-content). So in WP, I went to DreamObjects > DreamObjects and checked the “Enable logging” button. I hit the grey (not brown) “Configure Logging” button and expected to see some more options to configure. Ha! That button just saved the checkbox state.

So here’s my suggestion: rename that button to say “Save Logging Option” or something. An even more clear UI would be to move the Reset Options (and its nice brown “Reset Options” button) to its own menu at DreamObjects > Reset Options . Then the Debug Logging section could have its own nice brown button that could just say “Save”.

I had to laugh as I watched myself as a new user do something that I’m sure you never expected.

    Cheers!

The plugin is working fine, by the way, and the debug logging is a nice feature.

Reset is going away in v4.

If you enable debugging, it’s enabled. If you disable, the log is removed. Plain and simple. It no longer says configure. Plus status logging is enhanced so you can view the last results, including captureable failures, in your dashboard ??

Nice with no reset, nice with clearer on/off, and nice that the last log results are visible right there, though I had no problem with it being a link. Cheers!

UX for the most recent backups has been seriously renovated. So I hope that will work for you.

Nice UX changes. I did notice that a backup I had made with 3.5.2 did not show up in the Recent Backup Status listing, even after running a new ASAP backup under 4.0. Also, from Cyberduck I manually deleted a small DB backup and in the Recent Backup Status listing the message:

[2016/03/11 12:50:32] SUCCESS: Upload to the cloud complete!

appeared but of course no download link was available.

Without reviewing the code, I’m assuming if you change the number of retained backups, it will actually query DreamOjects only on the next run?

I’m not complaining, by the way. How much error checking is worth including, right? Just testing to see how things work, and it looks like things work pretty well. Cheers.

Yeah. It switches over once you have the new setup and backup. There was no real way to properly log the old backups and the new ones, since before it wasn’t a log but literally a check if the file was there and a link.

If you delete the backup from the server, the log knows you did it, but can’t link so it just says it backed up.

When you change the number of backups, it’ll change the max it displays on that page, as well as the max stored on the cloud.

    Sweet!
