• The UI is far from self-explaining and doesn’t take WP’s UI standards into account.
The lil’ Jaguar Icon in the admin bar doesn’t represent the menu icon left of the menu entry nor is any standard entry just showing an icon up there.
The info icons besides the entries are looking artificial too and the links take you out of the backend instead of explaining the entries inline.

Most annoying is, that if the plugin can’t find/write .htaccess it doesn’t show the needed rules (for developers who don’t wanna give write access to anything), but just outputs non-explaining error.

    which explaining is not enough?

    .htaccess was not found

As I said, I’d wanna see, what the plugin wants to write to .htaccess in such a case.

it means that there is no .htaccess ?? You didn’t set the permalinks I guess

You shouldn’t think, that you have to do with a dumb user. I’m pretty sure, that’s not the case. ??

First of all, when WordPress can’t write to .htaccess, it shows the code the developer should put into .htaccess.

Second, there is an .htaccess for sure. But website directory and WordPress directory are different for security reasons. And I’m using custom permalink settings, which should be supported as well.

W3 Total Cache does find my .htaccess without any problems!
