  • Hi there echoleaf,

Thanks for posting! What I’d recommend doing first would be to uninstall and reinstall the plugin itself and reconnect the MailChimp account. If there is a list created in the MailChimp account, once that account is connected with the plugin you will be able see this list name in the drop down box below the “Your Lists” header.

Additionally, to the right of the drop down menu there is an “Update List” button, which will trigger new information pulled from MailChimp if list fields are changed/added or a new list has been created.

Let us know if you need any further assistance! We’ll be happy to help.

hi, i have the same problem. already have a list on mailchimp, but after already the 2nd time installing the plugin and connecting it to mailchimp it still shows me that i have no lists defined. where can i find the “update list” button?
    thanks!

    Hi there phillsb,

Sorry to hear you’re having this issue. To clarify a bit, here’s a screenshot of what you should see when managing the MailChimp settings for this plugin: https://screencast.com/t/eGxQAR0N2

I’ve indicated the two places where you should be able to select or update the lists, which means those details will get pulled in directly from MailChimp.

Does the above screenshot match the settings page for your plugin?

    -Kath

    Hi,

I do not see the list selection or the update list button. See here a screenshot of my settings page: https://www.phills.at/bt/WPmailchimp.png

    Thanks.

    Hi Branka,

That error message will only appear when the connected MailChimp account does not yet have any lists created within it. Would you mind writing me an email at wordpress(at)mailchimp.com with some details about the MailChimp account you’re wanting to connect so I can look into this for you? Details like account name, username, and list name would be most helpful.

Thanks for hanging in there with me and I look forward to hearing from you. I’ll respond here in the forum once I receive your email and have a chance to look into things on this end.

Hi, i just sent you an email. Thank you! ??

Thanks Branka, just took a look in your MailChimp account and I do see there’s a list in there and things should be connecting.

What I’ve done is created a second list for testing in your account. Would you mind hitting the Log Out button on your plugin setup page and logging back in? Hopefully we’ll be able to see the lists populate.

    Let me know!

    Hi Kath,

I logged out and logged back in again, but there are still no lists showing. Could it be about a setting from my hosting provider maybe?

Hi Branka, thanks for giving that a try. Next step would be to delete the plugin and reinstall it. Often this helps to resolve different connection issues that occur with the current version of the plugin, so I’m optimistic it could sort things out here.

If that’s still not doing the trick, best option to proceed would be to use an alternate plugin or the MailChimp embed form.

    Hi Kath,

unfortunately this didn’t work as well (deleting the plugin and reinstalling it).
Please recommend me an alternate plugin. I only need a subscription form.

    Thanks!

    Hi Branka,

Sorry to hear things still weren’t working out with this plugin – unfortunately I wasn’t able to replicate the issue you were having but I’m going to continue to investigate.

I’d recommend using the MailChimp embed form code, which can be placed anywhere in your site that supports HTML, i.e. a Text widget or Page content.

    – Add a Signup Form to Your Website: https://eepurl.com/gOGN

There are also other WordPress plugins, but here in this forum I can only support this particular plugin, and MailChimp support in general is limited when supporting these third-party plugins. Most do have their own support forums as well though.

    – WordPress items in the MailChimp Integrations Directory: https://connect.mailchimp.com/search?q=wordpress

thanks for the infos. i’ll try the embed form code!
