ugrading by erasing all files and installing…

  • I am still on 1.5 and have a site hosted on dreamhost. Would i have a better chance at not screwing up the upgrade to 2.0 if i save all the files in my wp folder on my site to my hard drive, exporting my posts, then deleting it from my host’s server and then doing a completely new install? I am on dreamhost so they have 1-click install of WP?

  • And then what? You cannot import your 1.5 database into a 2.0 install…
    If you want to start a brand new blog – then go ahead. If you want to upgrade your existing blog – don’t invent the wheel ?? Just follow the instructions in the “sticky” post on the front page of the forum (with the red background on the top).
