• I am new to WordPress but have managed to trial-and-error my way through putting a small-business site together. Aside from the overwhelming multitude of “this needs attention” areas on my site, my biggest problem right now is the blog.

I have a page dedicated to the blog and my goal is to make updates as often as possible, but the blog is intended to enhance the business, not be the focal point of it. And I am about as unpolished a blogger as one can be.

Saying that this page is currently lacking personality would be an understatement. It’s downright ugly and looks nothing whatsoever like I envisioned. I gave my one-and-only post a title but it doesn’t show up. The photo is small and off to the side, when I’d prefer a larger photo that displays above the text. (Stuff like that but you get the idea.) The problem I’m having is that I’ve played around with the settings within my Customizr theme and what I have up is the best I can get out of it. Anything else I’ve tried looks even more jacked up than what’s there now. It’s probably some magical addition or alteration to code somewhere, but consider me that tourist in a foreign country walking around with the translation book inches from their nose, frantically trying to look up “Where is the bathroom?” word by word.

Changing my theme is a deal-breaker – I’ve spent three months on this baby and my eyes are about to cross. Does anyone know of any really great plug-ins that would allow me to easily override whatever is there now and reformat my blog appearance without affecting any other part of my site?

    Thanks!

  • You don’t need a plugin (and one would not magically fix/change what you describe anyway) – you can make changes to the theme/site by using the regular functionality and/or custom CSS.

For help making the changes you want, post on the theme’s forum here:

You’ll need to post a link to your site – as is, I’m not even sure what all you want to changes or what may be wrong.
