    Hello,

UA cookies (_ga and _gid) won’t disappear if I revoke my consent after having accepted them once. Shouldn’t they be deleted if I change my cookie settings on the Complianz banner?

    Things I have done:
I have set Complianz to embed the UA tracking ID to my site. There shouldn’t be a double implementation of UA on my site.

UA is connected to Google Ads, so I didn’t at first check the “Google is not allowed to use this data for other Google services”. The other two are checked. Anyway, after checking all of them nothing changed.

I’ve used incognito mode on different browsers, but the behavior stays the same: once accepted, the two cookies stay on the site, even if I decide to revoke my consent.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello @designsamipeltonen,

Your implementation is correct, Analytics is only loaded upon providing consent for the Statistics category.

Please note the difference between revoking consent and actually removing previously set cookies from the browser of your visitor. When revoking consent, no new Analytics cookies can be set, as the Analytics scripts are once again blocked by Complianz.

If you also want to actively remove cookies that had already been set in the browser of your visitor when they revoke their consent, you can enable the Consent per Service/CookieShredder functionality in the Complianz Wizard under Consent > Services. For an explanation of this functionality, please refer to this article: https://complianz.io/introducing-the-cookieshredder/

    Hope it helps!
    Kind regards,
    Jarno

    Hi,

and thank you again for clearing things up. I definitely had difficulty understanding what exactly “revoking consent” means. I won’t have that difficulty in the future.

Hi @designsamipeltonen, Great to hear that your issue is resolved! Could you tell us what you think of the plugin or the support by casting your Review here? We’d love to hear your feedback!

I have the same problem with cookies from Koko Analytics. Sending cookies after statistics consent works (with the script window.koko_analytics.use_cookie = true;) but withdrawing consent does not delete them anymore. Is it enough to meet the GDPR? Is there a way to make them disappear from the cookie list after opt-out? I also tried this https://complianz.io/withdrawing-consent/ but no effect. Please help.

If the troubleshooting already posted made no difference for you, then, as per the WordPress Forum Rules , please post your own topic.
