• In the middle of our uploads for a show, the entries are not working. I went in and tried it for one of our members, and I get the same problem.
The entry screen seems to work fine, but when we hit the submit button, there is an error page. It is a long narrow page that pops up on top of the upload page, with no address bar. It says:
    “** Notice **
[U011] Upload may not have succeeded:”
and then our standard 404 message:
    “Page Not Found
We’re sorry, but the page you are looking for isn’t here.”
    —————————
down at the bottom is says: “Page will reload to show current status.”
    but it does not reload.

    Please advise.

You seem to imply that uploads were working for a while — is that right?
If so, and if this is now happening for all users, it seems something must have changed on your server.

The error message implies that the wordpress page was not available — either did not exist or could not be accessed.

Are you able to refresh the page? Or do you get the same message when you try?

If you did any administration of the site in the right time period, ( eg changed file permissions via ftp, or installed a new plugin, …. ) think about whether that could have broken something.

If the load on the server was heavy, it could just be a temporary slowdown — web hosting companies sometimes shut you out for a short period if you exceed your limit.

If you know how to, you could check your server error logs for clues.

Yes, the uploads were working for a while. I’m not sure if they were working after your latest update or not.
Checking with the hosting service to see if anything was done.
Yes, can refresh the page, after closing the “** Notice **” popup. The page is blank, i.e. no upload occurred.
The uploaded file is not in the EZW_Img_Uploads folder.

Can you tell me what would cause the “upload may not have succeeded” message?

Should I try reloading the previous version of Entry Wizard?

    Thanks, Judy

The last EntryWizard update came out 2 months ago. When did you update to that version, and have uploads happened successfully since then? If so, that’s unlikely to be the issue. I haven’t heard of anyone else having problems.

You need to figure out when the last successful upload happened, and then look into what might have been done to the system since then. If this is the first upload for a new webform, then perhaps there is something wrong in the webform settings?

“upload may not have succeeded” means exactly that — it’s a general catchall message when I have no way to tell what went wrong. It might mean that the EntryWizard code was not even reached — and in fact, since you got a 404, that seems likely.

Sorry I can’t be of more help.

    Hi Josie

I am having the same problem today on our club website. The uploads worked last week but stopped today. I have a form to enter image titles, it too does not work. I am able to load new images on the website but the Entrywizard function does not work now.

    Any suggestions?

    Hi Josie

Just to add I dont get the 404 message just the U011 error.

    Very puzzling.

Something must have changed between the time it was working and the time it stopped working. Did you update/install any other plugins? Or change your PHP version?

If you can access it, is there anything in the wordpress debug.log file (usually in the wp-content folder) around the right time?

Assuming you did not change the EntryWizard version, the usual procedure for this sort of thing is disabling all other plugins ( except EWZ_EXTRA if you use it ) and enabling them again one by one, to see if one of them is the cause.

If you find a plugin that conflicts with EntryWizard, please let me know.

If you use it, Ewz-Rating did come out with a new version during that time, and it is conceivable that there is something in it that only affects some sites. Temporarily disabling Ewz-Rating should not affect EntryWizard functionality.

As a follow-up to my original posting, I have not been able to figure out what conflict was causing the issue. I started having similar problems with one other plugin (Page Builder) and with basic wordpress. When, for example, I went to add a new plugin and put in a search for the plugin, I would get a spinning icon, but the search never fulfilled. Sometimes, if I refreshed the page, the search would come up. Unable to determine the source of the problem and in the middle of registering people for two shows, I transferred all the show registration/uploads to a totally different URL, with minimal plugins for other things, and it is now working…so far. I’m keeping my fingers crossed. I agree that it is probably a conflict with another plugin I installed an update for on March 5, but I couldn’t figure it out.
