• I have a page with wordpress ie domain.com and would like to open a subdomain working.mydomain.com which would use the same database with all the major and only working.domain.com maximize change design. Since there has been some problems with the theme that is on domain.com I thought to make subdomain and copy all the contents of the public_html / working folder and then just change my url and I can install a new theme that would have to start all from beggining that i have to install plugins and other things as on domain.com

Any further suggestions / help on how to do this is welcome

    Thanks in advance

  • Hi datoseb,

    You have a few options…

    1. Reinstall WordPress… sometimes that fixes the issue.
    2. Create a multisite network.
    3. Install a fresh copy of WordPress in a subdomain. Export the content of your old site into the new site. Moving WordPress provides further guidance.
    4. Use a premium service such as VaultPress or BackupBuddy to transfer the content for you.

Thank you for your answer Matt epublic,

I could use a fresh install of wordpress and ofc template. My site currently has over 7000 news published with thumb pictures that are located on the local map in subdomains. I’m interested in how to bring this ie should I export the database tables and post from old db then import them into the new database to (new installation).?
