    Hello,

I want to display two wide width columns of products on front page. Like this https://ibb.co/wh1ByGC

I’m on Storefront theme. Now I’m using Products by Category block but it keeps thumbnails size small. Now I have three columns, but if I set columns on two, thumbnail size doesn’t change to bigger: https://www.shop.handmadehome.me/

I also found Products(beta) block. You can see it on first screenshot. It looks like exactly what I need. But, unfortunately it has bugs and doesn’t work properly. This is what I get in the result :

Maybe is there any way to get two wide width columns of the products?

    Thank you!

    Hello @handmadehome,

You can use the Hand-picked products block instead, when inserting them into a column block make sure to select the layout as 1 per column in the block settings.

    Here’s a quick screencast to demonstrate: https://d.pr/v/Fl7gc2

Unfortunately that doesn’t work too. Thumbnails still stay small. This is what I get:

I need exactly huge thumbnails like these:

This is what Products(beta) block supposed to do. But page can’t be published correctly with this block due the bugs. It works correctly only in Edit page mode.

    Thank you!

    Howdy @handmadehome

Thank you for reaching back with further information on this.

I am visiting the page at https://www.shop.handmadehome.me/, and I can see that there are three columns currently, occupying the expected width, as showcased in the screenshot linked here.

Nevertheless, I went ahead with testing in a private installation of mine, using the Storefront theme.

While testing, I was able to see the change in size upon selecting two columns instead of three, when adding them using the “Products by Category” block.

Just to note, the “Products by Category” block has its own width options, as showcased in the screenshot linked here. Feel free to try them out.

I trust that points you in the right direction, but if you have more questions, let us know. We’re happy to help.

Thank you for your help @anastas10s

You said that you can see the change in size upon selecting two columns instead of three. Can you please, share the settings you used for bigger images in two columns?

I tried all options, and I can’t see any difference in image size. In my case image size stay same, only distance between images changes:

    Please, take a look:

    Full Width: https://ibb.co/Yj8hM8K

    Wide Width: https://ibb.co/rczJKDs

    None: https://ibb.co/xg0tkKY

I really need big images like these or something close: https://ibb.co/2FnSvwV It’s important to show all details of my artworks. But I can’t find a way to reach this:(

p.s. I even tried different page Templates additionally. But nothing helps:(

    Thank you so much!

    Hi there @handmadehome

I really need big images like these or something close:?https://ibb.co/2FnSvwV?It’s important to show all details of my artworks. But I can’t find a way to reach this:(

Feel free to use the Products (beta) block, set its width to Wide, as showcased in the screenshot linked here.

Then, choose the WooCommerce Large Image Product Gallery Pattern, as showcased here.

I trust that points you in the right direction, but if you have more questions, let us know. We’re happy to help.

I found the decision for this issue!

I had 300 px thumbnails in the settings:

    4

That was a maximum size Products by Category block could display. This is why thumbnails remained small in my case.

I increased Thumbnail width to 600px. And regenerated thumbnails. Now product images really change their size to bigger with Wide width and Full width options.
