I am hosting multiple websites on godaddy. Somehow when I installed wordpress on the root of dovelrefrigeration.com it installed davinajamison.com — I don’t know how to explain it except to say that when you go to dovelrefrigeration.com it loads davinajamison.com. Yet, when I click on number of applications installed, it shows WordPress installed on 3 websites (not Dovel), and when I click install and select Dovel, it says the domain is already in use.

I cannot figure out how to untie these two domains so that I can install wordpress on the root of Dovel — and not have it be the alias of davinajamison.com

Can anyone help? GoDaddy told me it was a WordPress issue, not something they could help me with.

  • Hey Davina,

I’m getting two different websites. One has simply social in the logo and the other looks like a brand new install (on the refrigeration one).

Have dumped all of your cache? That would be my first recommendation.

I actually fixed it. I’d inadvertently pointed the Dovel site to the root of the primary website … and once I added a subdirectory folder and repointed Dovel, I was good to go. I sort of knew I needed to do that, but it took me forever to figure out exactly where to do it.

    Thanks!

    I’m glad you got it!
