When I go to my website (https://razoredgeknives.com) on a desktop computer (browser doesn’t matter) I get exactly what I want to see… my wordpress site that I have created. But when I go to the same address on my smartphone it takes me to my old weebly site that I have disabled? I cleared the browsing history on my phone’s browser (including the cache and the cookies) but it doesn’t fix anything. I did download another android browser and it takes me to my new site… any thoughts?

  • Ask BlueHost about a mobile setting for your site.

I am already using a mobile template… its called “responsive”. but my problem is that my chrome android browser is still bringing me to my old weebly site instead of my new one, even though my desktop computer is bringing me to the new one.

I’m getting your WP site on my iPhone. Sounds like a DNS or local cache issue. How long ago did you switch the site?

Is your phone on the same ISP as your computer?

Thanks for the help… after playing with it more, it seems like when I am on the “view as mobile” setting on my phone it goes to my old weebly site, but if I am on the “view as desktop” setting then it goes to my new one? can you verify?

I switched it about 2-4 weeks ago.

    yeah, different isp… weird huh?

    On my phone, at this:

    https://www.razoredgeknives.com/

I get a **website under construction ** post under the image.

    Is that your weebly site?

Clicking on the “Web” switches to WP, yes.

    That’s on Comcast cable, FWIW.

yes… EXACTLY, the one that says “under construction” is my old weebly site and the new wordpress site is pretty much done with all of the pages functioning…

There must be a redirect someplace – maybe .htaccess or something on BH?

    The nameservers look okay –

    https://www.whois.com/whois/razoredgeknives.com

But is that other site on your same server?

    (@josh623)

what other site? i didn’t see one other than razoredgeknives.com…

how do i check on the redirect in the htaccess file?? what am i looking for?

I meant your weebly site – but that’s hosted on their servers, right?

Yeah, it was, I had my weebly site on my bluehost server… but I found this and followed the instructions. Don’t know why its still showing up! This is frustrating… thank you so much for your help!

any more suggestions? still not resolved… I think there is remnants somwhere on my bluehost server that I can’t find that need to be deleted… I can still log into my Weebly account and see the page that its displaying. But I don’t know how to delete weebly association?

Sorry, this really seems like a BlueHost/server issue – WordPress doesn’t have any settings that I know of that would do this.

ok thank you… i’m on the chat with them now. i will post update in case anyone in the future needs help on this issue…

ok… when going from weebly to wordpress, or to delete your weebly account this is what you need to do. First of all, follow the link posted above (i.e. edit the .htaaccess file and then delete the index.html file). but for me, the problem still persisted in that i would still be displaying the mobile version of my weebly site even though the desktop version went to my new wordpress site. i went into my Weebly website builder and went to settings, and unchecked the box to make it compatible with mobile devices, then i re-published. This fixed the problem.

The blue host tech support rep. said that I can then go through my entire bluehost server with the file manager (in your control panel) and delete any and all .html, .xml, .htm files that i find without suffering harm. I hope this helps some of you, be sure to check all of the folders on your server to get rid of all the remnants.
