Two theme pages one back end

Hi,
I would like to set up two magazine style theme pages on a domain for two different sports but have them share a common back end.
Would I be able to use tags in wordpress to separate and display the two pages on the front end correctly?
Any theme recommendations that can work in this way would be appreciated.
