Two sites in one

  • Hello WP users
    How far is it possible to combine two sites in one on WP? I’ve got two domain names, one more commercially-inclined and the other more academic. But I’d like to use them as far as possible as one site. So I’d like one site with
    ? Two domain names
    ? Two different site headers / branding / masthead
    ? Two different domain names / URLs displayed in the address bar.
    The reasons for this are to
    ? Simplify maintenance
    ? Share and display the same blogs
    I’m aware, of course, that I can just have one domain name (Domain A) pointing to another (Domain B). I’m aware that there is a plugin (JonRadio) which allows multiple themes. And another (WP Display Header) which allows me to change headers. But how much further can I go in integrating two sites into one, especially as regards the URL displayed in the search? And what are the implications for SEO?

    I’m not sure if this is advanced WP use or not. But it’s advanced to me. So I’m asking it in this forum.
