I have GDPR Cookie Consent installed on two websites and am loving it! However I just installed on a 3rd website and the whole interface is completely different. Not so good at all.

It says it’s the same version 3.0.8 but is very very different. The other sites have a admin navigation item called GDPR Cookie Consent, the 3rd site just says CookieYes but looks like a completely different plugin. Is there a setting somewhere that can make it work like the other one. I am baffled.

    Hi @voodoochill,

    Greetings from CookieYes!

The plugin has undergone a significant revamp in its code and interface. The version you encountered on your 3rd website is the revamped version. Old websites still receive the plugin and update in the legacy interface itself. Our users are gradually transitioning to this new interface through the process outlined in a recent article.

In light of future improvements and new features that will be added, we suggest that you move to the updated version of the plugin to take advantage of these improvements.

Oh dear. I have tried but I’m not able to use the new one though, it is too complicated. The old one is very intuitive and doesn’t need to go to another website to change things.

So will I not be able to get the old version for my new site?

    1. Where/how do I get the legacy version? Thanks
    2. The new version seemed to slow my site down
    3. I had t go to another website to configure it, I really don’t want to do that. The old version would create a cookie policy page on the site, the new version you have to do that on the other site then copy and paste.
    4. When I originally installed the new version on a site, it showed on my Cookieyes account but the site titles were all mixed up so I deleted the account and started again. I prefer plugins that I just configure on my own site.

My queries aren’t really to do with site health, however I understand.

Could you at least answer question 1? Thanks

    Hi @voodoochill,

We asked for the site health details to address your issue with 2 and 4. You can get the legacy version from advanced options on the plugin page. If you find any difficulty in setup it up, share the site health as instructed through the link and we shall assist you further.

I share voodoochill’s complaint: I set up the CookieYes plugin. It was easy to configure and I designed the old-fashioned sticky banner along the bottom of my site that I wanted. I was a happy CookieYes man!

Next day, I added the CookieYes plugin to two other sites and they have completely different settings! Compared to the earlier version, they are a pain in the backside to figure out and work.

So, I want to return to the legacy version. But the only “advanced settings” I found were under Cookie Banner > General and they do not offer a legacy option.

    What do I do now?

I couldn’t find the option for legacy version either. It is not under advanced.

Please?use this link?to get further help with your query and post your concerns.

That link says it is only for premium customers, and queries re: free plugin should be addressed here.

I note that this is now marked as resolved, I’m not sure why because it is neither resolved nor am I the inly person with this complaint.

You said it was possible to restore the legacy version, but the information about that is not clear at all. Is it supposed to be on the plugin page or on the webapp?

Okay—you got me. I used the contemporary version of CookieYes and set up a nice-looking box.

    Thank you.

So, now a question: What does the Reject All button do when selected?

    (@cookieyesteam)

    Hi @voodoochill,

We had requested to share the details via the link provided to assist you with the installation of the legacy version. This would enable us to look into the site configuration and provide a solution without affecting your site. However, if sharing the details is difficult for you, we can provide a more generic solution that may be helpful.

To access the legacy version of our plugin, please visit the plugin page on WordPress. From there, click on the “Advanced view” option and scroll down to locate the download link. You can refer to this screenshot for a visual guide. Select version 2.1.3 from the drop-down.

To install the legacy version 2.1.3 of our plugin, please follow these steps:

    1. First, add the following code to your WP-config.php file: define(‘CKY_REMOVE_ALL_DATA’, true);
    2. Deactivate and delete the current version of the plugin.
    3. Download version 2.1.3 from the link provided on the WordPress plugin page.
    4. Install the downloaded version of the plugin.

Note: We recommend using the revamped version of the plugin as it will include the latest functionalities and security patches. This will ensure optimal performance and protection for your website.

    Hi @nealumphred,

The ‘Reject all’ button serves the purpose of rejecting all cookies on the site, thereby preventing any scripts from loading.
