  • Do you have your home page set up as a static page? In that case, yeah, this will happen if you’ve created sub-pages from this. The easiest solution is simply to not have them as sub-pages – so, have the Universe Superposition page as it’s own, separate, page.

    Thanks.
(Yes, I think the style of the site requires a static front page.)
Leaving this as unresolved in case anyone has some magic which creates what I want!

Here’s one solution for what you’re asking for (essentially you want to flatten the permalink structure for sub-pages)…

    However, this plugin may help…

    Thanks again. Good info.

I don’t think I want to get involved with the permalinks directly as in the first link.

I assume if I use the plugin in the second link I would have to alter the url for all my top level child pages. Only three at the mo but it could be one more thing to go wrong with updates and so on.

Will probably go with a new page as the home page directing to the current home as an overview. Probably far more readable anyway!

Closing the thread as good solution has been provided.

I don’t believe you would do. I believe – not tried it but from what I read about it – that you can simple change the permalink so that in the case of a child page, the parent page will not be included in the URL.
