Two features not working in WordPress

  • I use WP 1.2 Mingus and at least two features don’t work:
    – Post by e-mail
    – Trackback
    I have thought to move to MT but it’s not GPL and I’m going to understand I will waste my money if I buy it.
    In concluscion I still think that WP is best weblog I have found until now but even I think that it lacks something in themes availability: the design of admin interface is fine, not the same for what users will see of your blog.

  • Well you might have that *** backwards. The user interface will look like the way you make it look.

    I was watching your templates just before posting here.
    When I tell that I think that WP “lacks something in themes availability” it’s because I’m not a Professional Web Designer (like you…;) and it would be nice if next release will come with a set of themes.

    But that’s why we have the styles over at Alex King, and why there is the guide to what tags do in the CSS.
    Even if WP came with 20 themes in the download, would we really stick with them ? I doubt it – we all want out blogs to look slightly different don’t we ?
    And CSS ? It’s *not* difficult – especially with the amount of support that is here, and offered so freely.

    There is no need to package themes with WP. There are plenty of places to find themes, including Alex King’s site. If you want it all done for you, use Blogger.
