I am using the following shortcode on a page:
    [frontier-post frontier_mode=”add” frontier_add_link_text="Add Something" frontier_list_all_posts="true"]
    I also had [frontier-post frontier_mode=”add” frontier_add_post_type=”post” frontier_add_link_text="Add Something"] with the same error

When the page displays I get the following error on the right hand side under the action column after “Edit” before the “Preview”
Warning: Missing argument 3 for frontier_post_preview_link(), called in /home/fscbmw5/public_html/test/wp-content/plugins/frontier-post/forms/frontier_post_form_list.php on line 141 and defined in /home/fscbmw5/public_html/test/wp-content/plugins/frontier-post/include/frontier_post_util.php on line 677

Also when you click on the “Add Something” link it displays a new page with the following error:
You are trying to add a post with an illegal post-type: NONE

Also the both errors were happening before the recent update on version 4.0.0

I have also installed Frontier Restrict Backend and Frontier Set Featured

This is a bug, and i will fix it asap.

You can change list layiut in Frontier Post settings to avoid the error until it is fixed

The first issue (Warning: Missing argument 3…..) is fixed in version 4.0.2

The second issue (You are trying to add a post with an illegal post-type: NONE) I can’t recreate:

What “Allowed Post Types” are checked in Frontier Post Settings ?

    Only Post
as I mentioned, it doesn’t matter whether I leave out frontier_add_post_type=”post or put it in.
Let me know if you need access, I have a test site.

    Nothing seems to be wrong.

Can you try and create a new page with the shortcode, and make sure to check in text view (not visual) that the shortcode looks alright – In some cases I have seen that the this solves issues, ex: sometimes the shortcode has been wrapped in code or pre tags.

I created a new page and nothing appears. No errors, no shortcode, I also looked at the old page that was getting the errors and nothing appears either?

Checked in text mode and just the shortcode appears

    Hmm, this is very strange…

Please check the profile you are using has at least: frontier_post_can_add, frontier_post_can_edit and edit_post capabilities.

Then deactivate Frontier Post (not delete) and re-activate again

If this is not working, try and add the widget Frontier My Posts, and see if that works.

    Two addtional questions:
    – is this a new install, or are the problems after an upgrade ?
    – can you edit already created posts ?

    Thread Starter fscbmwcca

    (@fscbmwcca)

I am logged in as admin
I deactivated the plugin (also am running Frontier Restrict Backend and Frontier Set Featured so deactivated those too) and the page showed the shortcode
I reactivated Frontier Post first and still nothing.

This is not a new install, problems after upgrade
I can create and edit posts without any problems

Can you edit a post with Frontier Post ?

And have you tried the My Posts Widget ?

As I am unable to re-produce your issue, and I can’t find any issues with the code, it is difficult. I am not saying that there is no bug, I just can’t find it.

In version 4 I implemented new logic to support post types, so I will try and add more specig error messages, this might help to track the issue

Until then, I suggest you revert to version: 3.8.7.2 (you can download it from the developer tab)

    Sorry, the widgets do work

    Plugin Author finnj

    (@finnj)

Ok, if you can add new posts using the widget, it gives me somethings to work with

    Thread Starter fscbmwcca

    (@fscbmwcca)

Let me clarify, the widgets show up (where as in the page they don’t) but still get the “You are trying to add a post with an illegal post-type: NONE”
when I click the link to Create a new post.

And I can edit an existing post.
Let me know if you need credentials to get in the site.
    Thanks
