I am very new to WordPress so perhaps this is already above my difficulty level. That said I have a basic grasp of PHP and CSS – so fingers crossed.

I have the Twenty Ten theme installed and I am trying to modify it to my needs. Basically on the front page I want to have posts to be displayed differently depending on when they were posted.

i.e. the 3 most recent post titles would be bolder, with thumbnails etc… and any older posts would just be listed.

For the sake of simplicity I have knocked up an rough idea of what I mean in photoshop. Which can be viewed here: https://imgur.com/oOd6X

The text formatting is not important at this point. I’m just looking to sort out the layout first.

Thank you in advance for any help on this. Really appreciate it.

  • I still see the same CSS as before!

Sorry. I changed it on my localhost server. I will update the live site too.

    Done.

There is still a missing closing brace just ahead of the lines you added.

God I feel like such an idiot!! Low and behold it’s now working.

Thank you very much again for your patience. I’m marking this as resolved now and hopefully I can fiddle to get it looking exactly how I want.
