Two columns in product’s Short Description

I have tried different ways (html/css) to create a div with a 2 column layout in the short description of a product, but there seems to be something preventing this (the “columns” are stacking on top of each other, not next to each other). Does this area (class=”summary entry-summary”) allow for a two columns layout? If so, how can that be archieved?

Have you checked if your html/css works with the Storefront theme? I’ve tried adding 2 columns content using this method, and it works as shown below:
