twnty twelve menu problem

    I have been messing around with this for hours now, and just cant seem to get it right.
    my site is at https://www.helpingpaws.co.uk
    I currently have no hover colour showing up.
    I did get it working, but then the active page menu item was a dark colour. I tried all sorts of css to try and get the active link to be white, but nothing worked. so, I took away a coma after visited in the following css

    .main-navigation li a:visited, {
    border-bottom: 0;
    color: #ffffff;
    and now I have a white menu that just shows the active link as bold.
    I would like it have a hover colour but a white active colour.

    I know my css is now wrong, without the coma, but at I dont want a dark colour for the active link.
    Please can someone help?
