Our developers have found a workaround to the current Twitter issue. We do not know how long this will last, but it works for now. The caveat is, that you can only do this once, creating only one FTS Twitter feed.

    Steps:

    1. Update the free FTS plugin to version 4.1.2
    2. In your WordPress dashboard, go to FT Social > Feeds and locate any Twitter feed(s) that you have created & delete those.
    3. In another browser tab, open up Twitter and login to the Twitter account you wish to display.
    4. Back in WordPress, go to FT Social > Add New Feed and select Twitter
    5. Click the “Login and get my access tokens” banner/button. Follow the prompts.
    6. Once returned to WordPress, it may take a few seconds for the green “create Twitter feed” bar to appear. Once it does appear, you can also click the settings and see your token & secret token. Click the bar & create your Twitter feed.
    7. Copy/paste the new shortcode to your WordPress page.

Again, This can only be done once, which is why you’ll need to delete any existing Twitter feed(s) in step 2. And, you will only be able to create one Twitter feed in FTS. At least, for now.

    Cheers,

    The SlickRemix Team

  • Hi Chris.

Is your plugin going to work moving forward for Twitter, as they are charging $100 per month to be able to use the API to read timelines? Their new tiers have a free plan, but that can not read tweets it can only be used for login and tweet posting. Or have I read it wrong?

    Thanks

Thanks for taking an interest in our plugin! At this time, the plugin should continue to work. We haven’t switched to the new version of the API yet. We have read about the new API version and aren’t sure yet what is going to happen there. It seems as though Twitter really doesn’t have a great pricing plan. We are trying to hold out as long as possible to see if they adjust things. They haven’t communicated very well with us developers. We will try and keep our users as informed as we possibly can as more news and changes roll out.

    Thanks,
    Justin
