I’ve noticed that if I set a Facebook override image, and leave the Twitter image blank, Twitter links use the Facebook image instead of the page default image. Simple work-around is to set the Twitter image to the same as the page default.

Minor bug, but you may want to look into this.

  • That’s the expected behaviour. If you don’t provide a Twitter image in the Yoast metabox, the image you’ve set for Facebook will be used for Twitter too. If you think it should work differently, please create a new GitHub issue so that our developers can look into this issue.

Thanks for the info! No need to change functionality then, maybe just the wording in the documentation:

If you want to override the image used on Facebook for this post, upload / choose an image or add the URL here. This will also override the image used by Twitter unless you specify a Twitter image.
